The second day of the ACCESS conference in Tunisia started on a high note with a key address from Prof. Dr. Utz Dornberger, the director of the ACCESS project. He tackled the topic on competence development for international intrapreneurship. His address highlighted the importance of university-business linkages for competence development for internationalization. He pointed out the importance of engaging international students in creating business start-ups in Germany as a means of promoting internationalization among students and businesses created through interactions.
Prof. Dr. Dmitiri van den Bersselaar was the second speaker of the day. He highlighted the initial research results of ACCESS in the first funding phase. He noted, that the first ACCESS project focus was on improving employability of African university graduates. He also highlighted the achievements of the ACCESS project as it was coming to an end. These were: Networking with six African universities for research, sponsoring twelve PhD students as well as 24 short-term scholarships, carrying out research in informal jobs with over 1.400 interviews done, had produced a handbook on employability, organization of summer schools and conferences with partnering universities.
