The already established African German Entrepreneurship Academy (AGEA) with 37 universities in Africa will be integrated into ACCESS. AGEA works in three different areas: Promoting entrepreneurship in Africa, supporting African-oriented start-ups in Germany and developing access to African markets.
To promote entrepreneurship, AGEA offers a training program for entrepreneurship supporters in partner universities in Africa – based on a concept for the development of startup support by universities. For that purpose, workshops are held by and for lecturers, as well as school and conference offerings of the Business Startup Summer format.
In the second field, AGEA offers training, coaching and mentoring for entrepreneurs, as well as the implementation of startup promotion through the SMILE-Inkubator of Leipzig University, which supports startups in the development of competitive business models operating in the African market. AGEA also annually hosts the AGEA Business Idea Competition, where innovative african startups introduce their business idea to a broad audience and and challenge their business models against other startups.
To access the African market, AGEA offers market research and business consulting opportunities – such as export manager training or startup nights. All with a focus on entrepreneurship in Africa or market research for German companies with an interest in Africa.
